The Cologne Summer School is back!

Political, cultural, and scientific relations between Germany and Argentina in the past and present.

This year, we are welcoming 10 students from Tucumán, Argentina to the University of Cologne.

Period: from November 5th to November 11th, 2023, with a kick-off event on October 20th, 2023.

Type of event: hybrid event

Detailed description: During the summer school, students from Cologne, the Universidad Nacional de Tucumán, and the Universidad del Norte Santo Tomás de Aquino will have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the relations between Germany and Argentina. They will engage with writers and artists who have migrated from Latin America to Spain or Germany and explore how this migration has influenced their art and literature. The program will also include workshops and various excursions in and around Cologne.

A detailed program is currently being developed and will be published as soon as possible. The application process is also under construction and will be announced in due course.

At the end of the summer school, the students will receive a participation certificate, provided they have attended regularly. Additionally, we can provide them with a document to excuse their absence from their instructors/professors during the specified period.

The Cologne Summer School has been approved by the International Office of the University of Cologne. It is associated with the lecture "Relaciones histórico-culturales entre Argentina y Alemania entre el pasado y el presente," led by Victoria Torres de Schmitz (Romanisches Seminar), and the seminar with the same title, led by Prof. Dr. Holger Meding (Fächergruppe 6: Geschichte). Registration for these courses will be available on Klips starting from August 24th.
