Information on writing a Master's thesis

The Master's thesis is the final part of the Master's degree program. This is written either in the compulsory subject Latin American Studies or in the chosen economics or social science profile.

 

Admission to the Master's thesis in the specialization in Spanish or Portuguese literature can take place after the successful completion of specialization module 2, admission to the Master's thesis in the specialization in Latin American History can take place after the successful completion of specialization module 3 and must be written in conjunction with the interdisciplinary specialization module 4. Supervision is possible by all professors and research assistants with examination authorization.
The preparation of a Master's thesis in the economics or social sciences profile is subject to the written approval of a responsible subject representative.

If you are unsure whether the relevant member of staff is authorized to supervise examinations or not, it is best to ask them. In some cases, lecturers have further information for theses on their respective homepages.

The scope is 60 pages and the completion period is 26 weeks. Further module requirements can be found in the module handbook.
