Information on writing a Bachelor thesis

To complete the degree, a Bachelor's thesis must be written in which a key topic from the area of the chosen field of study is worked on independently using scientific methods and presented in writing. The topic of the Bachelor's thesis must be taken from either the compulsory subject Latin American Studies or the chosen area of specialization in economics or social sciences.

If the Bachelor's thesis is written within the framework of Latin American Studies, supervision is possible by all professors and research assistants with examination authorization. If the Bachelor's thesis is written in the area of specialization, the written consent of a supervising subject representative is required. If you are unsure whether the relevant member of staff is authorized to conduct examinations or not, it is best to ask them. In some cases, the lecturers have further information for theses on their respective homepages.

The scope is approx. 35 to 40 pages and the completion period is 12 weeks. Further module requirements can be found in the module handbook .

Information on the formal completion of the Bachelor's thesis can be found in the examination regulations of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities for the Bachelor's degree programs.

If the Bachelor's thesis is written in the chosen specialization area of economics or social sciences, please also refer to the formal regulations of the examination regulations of the WiSo Faculty
