Multilingual Competence Program

The Multilingual Competence program offers a multilingual extension of the course offerings for students of the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in Regional Studies Latin America (RSL). Here you can find more information about the concept of the Multilingual Competence program.

Structure of the program

Through the Multilingual Competence program, the courses offered by the Romance Studies Department and the Iberian and Latin American Department of the History Department are designed to be multilingual in the sense that a number of courses are regularly offered in the foreign language.

This gives students the opportunity to complete a relevant proportion of the credit points (CP) to be earned in the compulsory subject of Latin American Studies in Spanish or Portuguese. Credits and internships acquired abroad can also be part of the program.

Prerequisite for obtaining the certificate:

  • BA PO 2021: at least 30 CP in the foreign languages Spanish or Portuguese
  • BA PO 2015: at least 30 CP in the foreign languages Spanish or Portuguese
  • MA PO 2021: at least 26 credit points in the foreign languages Spanish or Portuguese
  • MA PO 2015: at least 26 credit points in the foreign languages Spanish or Portuguese
